Western Trilogy was born on the road in the Summer of 1999, when I was visiting and writing about places in the American West for a collaborative book project with my husband, photographer Macduff Everton, entitled The Western Horizon (Abrams, New York, 2000).

The Western Trilogy sets are a visual distillation of that experience, joining selections of my text with original watercolor paintings inspired by the landscape of the American West.
